Joshua 7-8

This battle was taught at West Point for years because of the lessons that it teaches cadets.

The start of the story is actually from the battle of Jericho.  God told the Israelites not to take a spoil from the city of Jericho.  (Side note, when archeologists found the city of Jericho they were fascinated to find jars of food undisturbed.  It was extremely uncommon for a city to not be plundered after it was conquered.  Click here for a full article on the excavation of Jericho)

One individual, named Achen took some gold for himself and hid it under his tent.  (Get a volunteer to be Achen, and act out the fact the person took gold and buried it under the tent).
