This battle was taught at West Point for years because of the lessons that it teaches cadets.
start of the story is actually from the battle of Jericho. God
told the Israelites not to take a spoil from the city of Jericho.
(Side note, when archeologists found the city of Jericho they
were fascinated to find jars of food undisturbed. It was
extremely uncommon for a city to not be plundered after it was

One individual, named Achen took some gold for himself

out the fact the person took gold and buried it under the tent).
